Hayling Island an der Südküste Englands gilt als Geburtsort des Windsurfens (Patent 1958). Heute ist die Insel mit West Beach und Sandy Point auch einer der meistbesuchten Kitespots Englands – offene Nordsee auf der einen, Langstone Harbour auf der anderen Seite.
